  Jacqueline GonnsenWith family by her side at Grey Bruce Health Services, Lion's Head on Sunday, July 21, 2013.  The former Jacqueline Stevens in her 76th year.  Cherished wife of Dieter.  Loving mother of Suzanne (Les) Eden of Ridgeway, Steven (Deana) Gonnsen of Ridgeway and Kirk (Samantha) Gonnsen of Toronto.   Lovingly remembered by 4 grandchildren Jillian and Peter Eden, Carsten Gonnsen and Vera NorthGonnsen.  Dear sister of Martin (Lois) Stevens of Niagara Falls, New York and Phillip (Nancy) Stevens of Alliston and sister-in-law of Jennifer Stevens of Niagara-on-the Lake and Hazel Stevens of Prince George, B.C.  Predeceased by her parents Joan Ruth (Alexander) and Victor John Stevens and brothers John and Chuck.Jackie was born in Nottingham, England in 1937. Immigrated to Canada with parents and four younger brothers in 1951 to the Niagara Region where she worked, married and raised a family for thirty-six years. Jackie was an active volunteer in her community.  She was a lifetime member of Hospital Auxiliary, a member of Lioness Club, a volunteer at Girl Guides Canada for ten years and pursued her love of theater by performing with the St. John’s Players in Stevensville, ON.  Jackie was a frequent traveller and loved camping and in 1987 took an opportunity to move to the Bruce Peninsula to operate Good Acres Camp in Stokes Bay for fourteen years.  She loved the nature and people of the Bruce and happily retired in Whiskey Harbour and Lion’s Head.A celebration of Jacqueline's life will be held at the Lion's Head Friendship Club on Sunday, July 28th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, LION’S HEAD CHAPEL.  Donations made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation or War Amps would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.  Condolences may be sent to the family through the link below. I would like to Send Condolences Back to Notices Home | History | Services | Our Facilities | Notices | Contact Us | Links
