Obituary of George Longacre

   George Allen LongacreAge, 76 of Caledonia, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Friday July 12th on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. George was born January 17th, 1937 in Marion County as the son of the late Allen & Ruthella (Hoffman) Longacre. George was a graduate of Caledonia High School. He was a Claridon Twp. Farmer and a member of the Caledonia Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and he and Marge worked with the youth Group. He was also a former member of the County Gentlemen Barber Shop Chorus in Bucyrus. He loved his summers that he spent with his family on Manitoulin Island. In October 1956 he marred the former Marjorie Walker. She preceded him in death on February 13th 2009. George is survived by his son & daughter-in-law Tom & Yvonne Longacre of Caledonia, Ohio. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Nicole Housekeeper, Ben Housekeeper, Jennifer Longacre, Matthew Longacre, Kaitlin Longacre and Lee & Amber Brady. He is also survived by his great grand children Jasmine Longacre, Dawn, Hunter & Rayden Brady. He will be sadly missed by his only sister Phyllis Martin - Disbrow of Edison. He was preceded in death by his daughter Terry Housekeeper in January 2007. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. Funeral Services for George Longacre will be at 11:00 Thursday July 18th, at the Caledonia Church of Christ in Caledonia, Ohiowith Ken Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 .
