Obituary of Matthew Peebles

 Matthew Jack Scott PeeblesIt is with great sadness that the family of Matt announces his passing.  Matthew was born in Toronto and attended R.H. King Collegiate.  Matthew was  enrolled at St. Mary's University in Halifax, completing a Business degree.  Matt had worked this past summer at McGovern Hurley and Cunningham and was looking forward to commencing his accounting career next September.  Matt spent a great deal of his time on Lake of Bays where he was actively involved in the Lake of Bays Sailing Club as a participant and as an instructor.  He loved the cottage on the Lake which was always a sanctuary for him.  Sailing, skiing, hockey, golf, Matthew loved all outdoor activities and excelled at anything he tried.Blessed with a joie de vivre, Matt was strong, loyal, admired and deeply loved.  Matt's love, light and infectious laugh and huge heart will continue to guide and inspire all those whose lives he touched.  His family and the countless lives he touched in Scarborough, Toronto, Lake of Bays and Halifax will forever miss his warmth and generosity.  Matt will always be in our hearts.Beloved son of Bonnie Peebles of Scarborough and Greg and Monique Peebles of Toronto.  Much loved brother of Miranda, Claire, Marshall, Connor and Hunter all of Toronto.  Cherished grandson of Elaine and Lorne Scott of Listowel.  He will be sadly missed by his Aunts and Uncles Brenda (Stewart) Simpson of Wiarton, Sharon (Paul) Van Veen of Wroxeter, Monica (Brian) McCallum of London and Ivor (Anne) Peebles of London as well as his many cousins and friends.  Matthew was predeceased by his grandparents Jack and Marion Peebles.Family and friends are invited to share their memories at the McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Road, Toronto  (416)267-4656 on Friday October 26, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9p.m.  The funeral service to celebrate Matthew's life will be held at Kingston Road United Church, 975 Kingston Road, Toronto on Saturday October 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.  Donations made to The Lake of Bays Sailing Club "Fund the Fleet"- Matt Peebles, would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.We would like to acknowledge all the Medical staff that assisted Matthew at Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton.  Condolences may be sent to the family through the link below.  I would like to Send Condolences Back to Notices Home | History | Services | Our Facilities | Notices | Contact Us | Links
