Obituary of Leonard McArthur

McArthur, Leonardof Wiarton passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, March 13, 2011 in his 71st year. Cherished husband of 49 years and best friend of Joanne (McGarvey). Loving father of Brad McArthur and his wife Kim of Wiarton and Linda McArthur of Wiarton. Dear grandfather of Jodie Rutledge, Frank Smith, Tiffany Smith and Kristin Wright and great grandfather of Christian, Mackenzi, Emma, Shawn and Olivia. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Darlene (Lowell) Knight of Sauble Beach and Marie Horton of Wiarton, mother-in-law Muriel McGarvey of Wiarton, sister-in-law Carolyn Moohs and brother-in-law Doug (Marlene) McGarvey, nieces Brenda, Bonnie, Beth-Anne, Barbie, Becky, Betty-Anne, Sandra and Debbie and nephews David, Ricky, Bobby, Johnny, Ronnie, Shawn and Rodney. Leonard was predeceased by his parents Hilda (Hayes) and Murdock McArthur, brother Dennis McArthur, nephew Dennis McGregor, father-in-law Gordon McGarvey and brothers-in-law Bev McGarvey, Teddy McGarvey and Frank Moohs and sister-in-law Ruby McGarvey.Visitation will be held at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate Leonard's life will be held in the Chapel on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Cremation has taken place. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
