Obituary of Doreen Seguin

SEGUIN, Doreen "Dorie"of Wiarton passed away at Wiarton Hospital with her daughter by her side on Thursday, January 20, 2011 in her 96th year. Loving mother of Joanne Petrie of Wiarton and predeceased by her daughter Marilyn Wilkinson. Cherished grandmother of Shannon, Kim, Wendy, Scott and Susan, great grandmother of 14 and great great-grandmother of 5. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews as well as her sister-in-law Helen Winch of Toronto. Dorie was well known for her many years as a volunteer at the Wiarton Hospital and was very active with the Wiarton Legion Ladies Auxillary for over 50 years. Dorie was predeceased by her husband John 'Jack' Oliver Scott, long time friend Ernie Davison, parents Nellie (Gilbert) and Clifford Winch, brothers Alvin Winch and Bev Winch, sister Jean Fries, sister-in-law Ellen Winch, brother-in-law Wallace Fries and sons-in-law Gary Petrie and Harold Winkinson.Visitation will be held at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will be a Wiarton Legion Ladies Auxilliary Service at 6:45 p.m. The funeral to celebrate Dorie's life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Donations made to the Wiarton Hospital, CNIB or Wiartion Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
