Obituary of Bob Patterson

PATTERSON, Robert James “Bob”Bob was born in Wiarton, Ontario on June 13, 1943; the son of James and Ethelwyn “Eccy” Patterson.  Sadly, Bob died on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Victoria Hospital in London.  He was predeceased by his parents and at birth by a twin brother.  He is survived by sisters Jo Anne Cowan and Louisa Patterson, niece Rebecca, nephew Alex and in-laws Ted Cowan and Mark Jenkins.Bob owned and operated Green Valley Machinery in London where he provided machine tools and training to firms throughout southwestern Ontario.  He earned a reputation for skill and ingenuity in this work and helped his customers to grow their businesses and stay internationally competitive.  Bob also continued to run the family farm and maintained many friendships in the Wiarton area.  In Taiwan and China, he was known as “Uncle Bob”.  Those who knew him were proud to know him and said so.  Bob was a loving brother, a solid friend and a trusted businessman.  He held the love and profound respect of his family, friends, colleagues and clients.  Bob’s strength and gentle humour will be deeply missed.Family and friends are invited to share their memories at a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, 430 Mary Street, Wiarton.  Cremation has taken place.  Interment  Bayview Cemetery.  Donations made to the Brain Injury Association of London, Big Brothers Big Sisters of London or the Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy  would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.  Condolences may be sent to the family through www.georgefuneralhome.com I would like to Send Condolences Back to Notices Home | History | Services | Our Facilities | Notices | Contact Us | Links
