Obituary of Bob Porter

PORTER, Robert William 'Bob'of Wiarton passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at Victoria Hospital in London in his 89th year. Beloved husband for 68 years of the former Helen Skene. Cherished father of Judey (Bruce) Buckland of Wiarton, Ruth (Glenn) Beacock of Wiarton and Bob (Susan) Porter of Lake Charles. Special grandfather to Michael (Melissa) Beacock, Marla (Richard) Spencer, Jeff (Kim) Buckland, Emma (Mike) Gibbons and Scott Porter. Also great grandfather to James, Hannah, Elsie, Avery and Elle. Bob will be sadly missed by sisters Marguerite Graham of Kincardine and Betty (Erv) Gerber of Stratford and sisters-in-law Marjorie Smith and Fairy (Gord) Buchanan both of Wiarton. He was predeceased by his parents Bessie (Gault) and Harry Porter, brother Lorne and granddaughter Nancy Buckland.Visitation will be held at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Monday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m. Interment Oxenden Cemetery. Donations made to the Wiarton Hospital or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
