Obituary of Melvin Riehl

RIEHL, Melvinof Tobermory passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 21, 2010 in his 97th year. Beloved husband of the late Matilda Riehl and dear father of Faye McNair. Special grandfather of Yvette Brewster and Monique McNair and great grandfather of Adam (Lindee), Aaron and Jacob Hilker. Mel was like a second father and will be sadly missed by Tom Adams as well as his very dear friends Tillie Vaughan and Judy Bishop. He was predeceased by his parents William and Agnes Riehl, step-father Raymond Stephenson, brothers Clifford, Borden, Clayton and Bruce, sister Pearl and dear friends Jack Vaughan, Bill Bishop and John Adams.Visitation will be held at the Tobermory United Church on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. where the funeral service to celebrate Mel's life will be held on Wednesday, August 25th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Susan Shantz officiating. Interment Dunk's Bay Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Tobermory Health Clinic Auxiliary, Golden Dawn Nursing Home or Tobermory United Church would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
