Obituary of Ronald Earl Schenk

It is with great sadness we announce that Ron passed away suddenly on August 28, 2015 in Lions Head. He was 82 years young! He is survived by his children Bruce and his wife Marianne; Russ and his wife Cathy; and Cheryl Cade and her husband Bob; grandchildren: Melissa (Stephen Kennedy), Amy , Anita (Lonnie), Andrew (Melissa), Ben (Melissa), Sam (Jessica) and Jeff (Krista); great grandchildren: Skylar (Catlin), Tabitha, Harlequin and Alexandra, Aubrey, Logan, Asher; great- great grandchildren: Ondre and Brent; sister Eileen Parker; brother Bob Schenk; brothers and sister-in-law Lenard Russell, Violet Evans and Daniel Russell. Beloved husband of the late Millie (nee Russell) (May 31, 2015). Ron was born February 4, 1933 in Walkerton, ON. He was an OPP officer at the Sebringville detachment for 32 years, retiring 29 years ago. Ron’s hobbies included fishing, baking (his specialty was tea biscuits), playing euchre, solo, bridge or board games with his grandchildren. Ron and Millie lived in Sebringville while raising their children until 20 years agowhen they transformed their cottage into a beautiful home on a lake at Barrow Bay. A funeral tribute service to honour Ron’s life will be held at Lion’s Head United Church on Saturday September 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with a time of fellowship to follow. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, LION’S HEAD CHAPEL, Lion's Head. Expressions of remembrance to the Lions Head Friendship Club or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
