Our heartfelt condolences to your family on Russell,s passing. Our family, including my parents, Bruce and Ivah Clarke (nee Thompson) have many fond memories of Russell throughout the years. I myself, enjoyed meeting and learning from Russell when visiting with my Uncle Les and Aunt Ruth and when I would drop in to see him as he tended the historic gardens at Bellevue House in Kingston, Ontario.

Dear Katherine So sorry to read of Russell's passing. Many years ago you both hosted a delightful "Blacksmith's" dinner in Verona. I think we were celebrating the patron saint of blacksmiths, along with the fellows that had taken courses from Bryan Hughes (my former husband). It was a special evening of food and fellowship and I think I still have the anvil-shaped placemat. Thinking of you at this time of loss and sending hugs across the miles. Lynn.

I am so lucky to call Rusell part of my family and I will miss that twinkle in his eye, his smile, his wit, his hospitality and his wonderful cooking! I spent many nights at their home and we shared many walks and talks together. I will cherish all my memories of such a beautiful man. My heart goes out to The Ferguson and Soper families. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and that I am here if you need me, always. Xo
P.S. Russell would smile to know that I call myself part of the family. Although we share a last name, we are not related by blood, I am one of his daughter's best friends. Over the years, he would introduce me to friends and relatives as "Dee Ferguson, not related". Until the day I finally said "Do you have to point out rhat I'm not related? Aren't I part of the family by now?" He smiled and said "ok, you're part of the family!" That was a great day for me and gave me something to razz Russell about for years to come!
