Rev. Margaret "Peg" Wheeler

Obituary of Rev. Margaret "Peg" Catherine Wheeler

WHEELER, The Rev. Margaret 'Peg' Catherine (nee Pheysey) died peacefully October 29, 2018 at the age of 96.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunty, sister and friend.  Peg was born June 22, 1922 in Little Whitley, Worcestershire, England.  She came to Canada as a war bride having married her love Les in June, 1942.  They settled in Windsor where she began her family and never stopped until there were 10.  Peg is predeceased by her husband Les, her son Peter, daughter Pearl (Elliott), great great grandson Jonathan and her three sisters.  She is survived by 8 children, 27 grandchildren, over 40 great grandchildren and a plethora (lots) of nieces and nephews.  Peg always had room for one more so there are many young and old who have shared the Wheeler home.  While Peg blessed her community in many ways, two notable roles would be her work in nursery schools in the Wiarton area and her ministry as an Anglican Priest in the Diocese of Huron.  The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with prayers at 8:15 p.m.  The funeral service will be conducted from Trinity Anglican Church, Gould Street, Wiarton on Friday at 1:00 p.m.  Peg believed she was 'blessed beyond measure' and she returned this gift to the world.  The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers at Gateway Haven for their loving, gentle care.  Expressions of remembrance to Friends of Gateway or Primate's World Relief and Development Fund would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.georgefuneralhome.com
