My deepest condolences to Edward, Tony, Monica, Andrea and the rest of the family.
I am deeply saddened for your loss.
From the first time meeting Jennifer which was on a drive from Kitchener to the cottage (Club Ed). She was warm and welcoming to me. About halfway there she shared a thermos of hot coffee with a little touch something to warm the soul. From the start I could tell that she was a special person and it is something I still feel today.
As I learned and felt over the years that the cottage that she and Ed built was her happy place, just thinking of the delightful conversation had on the screened in portch or seeing and feeling the joy she radiated whenever she was there puts a smile on my face. We should all be that lucky to have a place that gives us that joy and peace.
She provided me unwavering support compassion and empathy in times of loss and unbearable stress. For that I will always be grateful, your presence will forever be in my heart.

Jennifer was such a great and understanding bridge player. Being her partner when ever given the chance made you feel so good because she was so gracious she would never criticize if you bid wrongly. She was such a joy to play with. Unfortunately the last time we played was at the house in Jackson cove with her and Ed myself and Shirley Petroff. Ed you took so much kindness getting Jennifer into the Lion's Head Friendship club for bridge. Nick and I wish you and your family strength and peace in days to come. Charlie and Nick Torra

My Aunt Jen was never afraid to share her opinion. Her honesty was only matched by her generosity. She never shied away from hard work but she always made time for a martini and a good meal. I loved her hearty laugh. Jen was truly a woman with grace ....and grit.
She will be missed.
I will celebrate her life this weekend in my garden, drink in one hand, shovel in the other.
...Sending love and virtual hugs to Uncle Ed, Andrea, Monica, Tony and their kids,
Xo,
Sharon Leahey

(A letter written to mom before she passed away.)
Mom,
I'm writing this directly to you, and for you because why should a celebration of your life take place when you won't have the pleasuse of hearing all the wonderful feelings that we have for you.
Andrea's letter has captured your character, spirit, and influence with such beauty that I'm left with little that wouldn't be redundant, so my letter will be short(ish).
I often think of you as an unstoppable force that could simply take on life's immovable objects, or an iceberg ; whose true formidability lies just hidden. My descriptives may not sound terribly
warm and fuzzy, yet they are some of what I admire most about you. I marvel at your calm strength, and how fortunate Andrea, Tony, and I are to have you as our mother.
You were so young to have 3 babies and a husband, and all while living in a province without the benefit of family close at hand to help.
I have always expressed to people that I had a happy and uneventful childhood. It would seem that this sort of normalcy is an exception to the rule for most other's upbringing, and I attribute my exceptional childhood to you (and, of course dad). In your tender 30's, life unfairly targeted you with far too many challenges in quick succession. Somehow you managed to protect your children from the emotional and health maelstrom that surrounded you during a time that would have crumbled most. Thank you.
Your beauty and strength has always been there for all to see, but young people are generally blind to such attributes in a parent, so it took time to really see the depth of all the qualities that you possess. You opened doors, offered direction, didn't pass judgement, and led by example, and for these I am humbled by the good fortune that you are my mother.
How often do I draw upon your character for strength - , how often do I find myself wondering how you would handle a situation - , how often am I conscience of all the wonderful similarities
within me that are you -, how often am I mindful of being thankful that you are my inspiration - To the stars and back
Thank you for being an extraordinary mom and for all the marvelous little bits of you that have been passed on to me, and your grandchildren.
If it should be that I don't have the chance to see you one more time; please know that I love you so very much, Arizona loves you, Spencer loves you...
you are surrounded by love.

Sincere condolences to the Dixon family on the huge loss of their wife, mother and grandmother, Jennifer.
I remember Jen as a gracious and generous host, bon vivante and witty conversationalist.
Jen's sense of style and decor, along with her gardening and cooking skills were unparalleled and she did it all effortlessly.
As a friend of Andrea and Doug (Gabriel and Sally), I am thankful to have been so warmly welcomed to the family cottage and hosted so magnanimously by Jen and Ed.
I have great memories of their loving, yet edgy dynamic as a couple, their wonderful ability to tell engaging stories and of course, the martinis.
My thoughts are with the Dixon family at this sad time,

Dear Ed and the entire Dixon Family:
It is with the most sincerest sympathy that Will and I extend our condolences on the loss of Jennifer. She was an extraordinary person, with deep drive, strong will, vibrant enthusiasm, off the cuff clever humour and had the will of a fighter. We always enjoyed spending time with both her, you, and the Dixon family. When we moved to the Cove in 2000, she was one of the first, that accepted us. She was a dear friend, confidant and teacher. She will always be remembered in our hearts and prayers!

Letter to my mother;
When dad called last week I thought he was calling to say he was bringing you home—not that we were losing you. I panicked and selfishly thought no, I’m not ready... but you are. The pandemic has cruelly kept us apart, but has given me this opportunity to write you this letter.
I want to thank you for being inspiring, stoic, determined, funny, elegant, talented, smart, proud, impatient (in a good way), and most importantly I want to thank you for being MY mom. You had the misfortune of being struck with an incurable disease in the prime of your life but you never let it define or stop you from huge accomplishments... you learned the Latin names of plants and landscaped the world around you, started a business, renovated and redecorated (many) houses AND built a cottage! You didn’t need permission to do something, you just did and you did it with gusto!
I know I wasn’t a planned baby, you always referred to me as your LOVE CHILD, a moniker I took literally: I was loved. You taught me to be independent, sympathetic, stylish, caring, inquisitive, ambitious, generous, a good mother, wife, cook (although I have never desired to cook or eat pigs' tails or feet) and importantly a sense of humour... who can forget swallowing diamonds!
There are so many things I want to say to you, like how proud I am of the dignity you have shown through all of your health battles, and there have been many—you always put up a fight and carried on. I know you are tired of your body’s betrayal and I understand your choice. If it is possible, and with your permission, I would like to be there with you and dad. But if not, please know how much I love you.
Your Love Child,
Andrea
