Obituary of Jennifer Gertrude Dixon
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Jennifer Gertrude Dixon (nee Leahey) on May 3, 2021, in Wiarton, Ontario.
Survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 59 years Edward A. Dixon, and their three children and six grandchildren; son Anthony (Tony) Dixon and his children, Sarah and Emily; daughter Monica Dixon and her children Arizona (partner Maddi Snowden) and Spencer; daughter Andrea Dixon (husband Doug Nicholson) and their children Gabriel and Sally.
The granddaughter of Rear-Admiral Walter Hose, CBE, DSCM, RCN, Jennifer was born in Ottawa, Canada on October 27, 1941 to Margaret Hose and Murray Leahey. Predeceased by her brother Edward Leahey, Survived by brother Terrance (Terry) Leahey and his wife Beverley.
With a degree in Horticulture, Jennifer was an avid gardener with a keen eye on landscape design. Her passion for creating beauty both inside and outside is carried on through her children and grandchildren. A consummate bridge player, Jennifer took great joy in spending time with the equally enthusiastic players at the Baker Street Women's Club - Owen Sound. Jennifer lived with grace and dignity, surrounded by the beauty and tranquillity of her home in Jackson Cove where a celebration of her life will be held at a date to be determined in the summer.
