I'm saddened to hear of Shirley Collins' death. I did not know Shirley, but I sure knew her son, Dean, who was and still is one of the most interesting and vibrant students I ever came across in my teaching career. I think any mother would be happy enough to have children with as much soul and imagination as Dean. I know Dean's brother and sister, but not as well as I knew Dean. All good "kids" who made my life as a high school teacher both worthwhile and interesting. My condolences and respect to them all.

When I first met Shirley, we had a spiritual connection that felt like a divine blessing. Her warmth, wisdom and openess matched my own and we forged such a friendship. She was a mentor, healer and friend. I will miss our connection but look forward to seeing her again. My heartfelt love and condolences to Marty and Dean. The earth ascended a Queen...I loved her dearly as did all the women she shared her heart and ministry with.

My condolences to Shirley's family. As female pastors, Shirley and I spoke often. My favourite memory is taking a trip to Ottawa with Shirley years ago to attend a Billy Graham Conference for ministers. I will miss you my friend! Pastor Marcia.

Shirley Collins was like a grandmother to me. She was such a blessing and such a mighty prayer warrior! I loved her and I know she was loved by many!! I give big hugs and prayers to her family. Know that I'm praying for you for strength and love through this time.

Dear Marty and Dean
So Sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. Shirley and I and our families were friends for years. She was a great lady!
She certainly looked like her mother in that one picture you had posted. I called it Little Irene, ha. She is now back with
Patty, and her Mom and Dad, and Willard. The last couple of years have been hard ones for all of you. Hopefully you can
