Dear Kim, We have fond memories of Perry's smile and happy disposition. We especially appreciated his little 'convenience store' open on Sundays when everything else was closed in Tobermory. We just had to go in and buy something to support him. He will always be remembered as a great guy.

I wish to send my deepest condolences to all of you on the loss of Perry. I want to express my thanks to you for being a part of the Northern Bruce Peninsula Fire Department family with Perry for over 36 years. Perry's service to his community is a testament to the sacrifices that he made, along with his family, for the betterment of others.
I was fortunate to meet Perry a few months ago when he stopped by the fire hall. I enjoyed the conversation that we had and wish that I had more opportunities to discuss the history of NBPFD and share his knowledge and passion for the fire service.
Once again, my deepest condolences on the loss of Perry. Below I would like to share the Firefighters Prayer:
When I am called to duty, God wherever flames may rage,
give me strength to save a life, whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child before it's too late,
or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout,
and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me,
to guard my neighbor and protect his property.
And if according to your will I have to lose my life,
bless with your protecting hand my loving family from strife.

Kim, I am so sorry for your huge loss. Perry was such a good guy; not many like him. He always went above and beyond to help whether for my students and their open waters, for OMHC activities or just my fun diving; he was a mainstay. I always thoroughly enjoyed time with him at the shop, his impish grin and twinkle in his eyes will never be forgotten.
