Gone to the Boat

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Albert Smith on October 31, 2022 at the Golden Dawn Care Home with his loving wife of 70 years Gloria (Hopkins) by his side. Born in Tobermory on April 12, 1929 Albert is the third child and only son of George (Dode) Smith and Gertrude (Tiny) Gibbons. Albert is predeceased by his three sisters, Jacqueline, Mardy and Shirley. Remembered with love by his wife Gloria and children Randy (Joyce), Holly (Glen), Martha and Hazel and his grandchildren Michael (Sandra), Liane (Ben), Jonathan (Angie), Barry (Summer), Meredith (Adam), Emily, Carla, Cherin (Justin), Roisin (David), and Daniel (Madison).

A celebration of his well-lived life will be held at the Tobermory United Church on November 12th, at 2:30 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior.  A time for fellowship with refreshments to follow the service.  Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, LION’S HEAD CHAPEL, Lion’s Head.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Golden Dawn Senior Citizens Home or Tobermory United Church gratefully accepted.
