Obituary of Allan Stroeder

STROEDER, Allan Michael - It is with much sadness that Ruthann, Tyson (Jill) and Colin announce the passing of Allan (Bud, Al) Michael Stroeder of Lion's Head on Sunday, September 3rd, 2023 at the age of 67, under the amazing care of the Lion's Head Hospital staff.  It was a brief 3 month battle with cancer.  He will be sadly missed by his two grandchildren - Griffin and Maddie.  He will be missed by our little dog Reba ... and 2 grand dogs Zoe and Milo.  He will be sadly missed by all his brothers, his one sister, his nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and his many wonderful friends.  His world was his life on the road as a truck driver and then escort for oversized loads.  He logged millions of miles and had pictures and stories to tell.  He wanted so badly to get back in his truck and work but it just wasn't meant to be.  In his new journey he is on his next long haul.

Special thanks to the radiation team at Grand River Hospital, the oncology team at Owen Sound Hospital and the Doctors and nurses from the Lion's Head Medical Clinic and Hospital.  The care he received was truly amazing!!!  A special thank you to Tyson, Colin and Jill's employers to give them the time to spend with him during his last days!

In accordance with Allan's wishes, a private family celebration of life will take place .  Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, LION'S HEAD CHAPEL, Lion's Head. In support and acknowledgment of the wonderful care provided at the Lion's Head Hospital, Ruthann and family will be making a donation of a new TV to the hospital.  As a way of keeping care close to home, expressions of remembrance to the Lion's Head Hospital c/o Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation in Al's name would be greatly appreciated.
