Obituary of Ruth Myles

MYLES, Ruth Margaret entered into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on December 30, 2024.  Ruth was the second child born to the late Barnett and Rita Myles on May 27, 1950 in Lion's Head.  Ruth passed away in her 75th year in her dream home in Spry on the Bruce Peninsula.

Ruth will be missed by her siblings Charlene (John Sutherland) of Fredericton, Murvin (Darlene) of Lion's Head, Shiela (Bruce Waddell) of Ottawa and Sharon (Jeff Futers) of Barrie.  Ruth was predeceased by her brothers David and Kieth and sister-in-law Sharon.  She will also be missed by her 11 nieces/nephews, 20 great-nieces/nephews and 2 great-great-niece/nephew.

Everyone who knew Ruth, was very aware she had the gift of hospitality.  Along with her family, many friends also benefited from this gift, enjoying her amazing dinners and desserts for which she was known far and wide.  She loved to cook so much that it became a career choice for her.  Ruth spent many successful years in the food services industry, from owning Ruth's Family Restaurant to retiring as the Head of Food Services for Masters College and Seminary in 2019.  Ruth loved her family, being in the kitchen and watching the various creatures that ventured into her backyard.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Bethel Missionary Church, 18 Ferndale Road, Lion's Head on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 am to 12:45 p.m..  Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, LION'S HEAD CHAPEL, Lion's Head.  Expressions of remembrance to Lion's Head Hospital c/o Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation or First Century Foundations would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.georgefuneralhome.com
